Art for water

2024

I am thrilled to have participated in the 2024 third mission of What Water in Cameroon, wrapping up the international artistic residency “Water is Life.” This initiative was organized by the organization in collaboration with Bandjoun Station – Barthélémy Toguo TOGUO, and the Jean-Félicien Gacha Foundation, bringing together 10 talented artists exploring the critical theme of water access through their art.

An enriching experience through the country, warmly welcomed by big-hearted people. Water is life, yet it remains scarce in many places, leaving children unable to fully enjoy their youth. Half of the proceeds from the artworks created during the residency will be donated to What Water to support its water infrastructure projects.

Luxembourg was well represented by the participation of Rafael Springer, whose immersion in the culture and creative process — particularly through the innovative use of Valorlux bags — demonstrated how much can be achieved with minimal resources, resulting in beautiful creations. His efforts were widely praised during the three exhibitions on-site and will feature in the 2025 restitution events in Europe.

In Yaoundé, I had the privilege of exhibiting at Village Noah alongside the other artists. My piece, inspired by the vibrant local colors and the dream of flowing water, was created during this transformative stay.
